That's an interesting article. Notice that they used the word, 'Acadian' is used rather than 'Cajun'. I guarantee you the word 'Cajun' would not have been used in an SLII bi-annual report in 1901. It was considered pretty much a dirty word at that time.

Based on the soda straw view in the link below, I question to what extent the term Cajun was used in everyday life.

In 1922 the acting class refered to themselves as Dat Cajan Crew
