Honestly BWK, if you cannot decide to renew just based on the fact that the Hud extension hasn't been finalized really verifies your moniker. You have a chance to support a up-and-coming program with an infinite ceiling and you choose to wait to renew on one little snag. Don't renew, I'm a graduating senior, I'll gladly take your seats in a heartbeat.

You are obviously missing my point. I percieve you are missing it on purpose. The point is not whether HUD goes at the end of the year or not. The point is whether the university did all it could to keep him & thereby keep the new fan base here. If the HUD leaves saying how much he has loved his experience here & that the school kept every promise to him they made, then that's a sure fire signal to me the school is going to have success replacing him whenever that time comes. The silence is deafening to me right about now. I'm not into singing Ole Angzign. I'm into supporting a quality program that is doing all the things to promote growth & competitiveness. This isn't about comparing quality of character of the fan base. This is about making a good business decision plain & simple. You can throw money down the school wishing well if you want. I choose to hold those responsible for the well keeping of my investment accountable.

I before E except after C.. just an obs. I personally will not be satisfied till the Louisiana Ragin Cajuns football team wins at least 10 bowl games, beats top 25 teams consistently and whips lswho a couple of times and then I would be OK with coach maybe looking around , a little..lol...

Well I'm sure the school is real appreciative of your commitment. Now, unless you are Farmer, T-Joe, or the HUD posting under an assumed handle. Or unless you can direct me to a link to let's say channel 3 or 10 with a reporter's micorphone in someone's grill & them saying there has been an agreement in detailed principle or Coach HUD grinning like a mule eating briars saying he isn't going anywhere for the next several years, then I'm thinking it's about time to let the little folks know that Secretariat has a full feed bag before I load my gold in said proverbial wagon. Now, it's real simple. I would have thought an announcement would have been made by now. You know, a week after a great Spring game & a week before the deadline for season ticket holders to renew their tickets & that this would coincide with an early push for the RCAF & a bigger overall season ticket sale. Forgive me for saying, but I aint feeling warm & cozy right about now. Maybe it's that little thing going on over in the Big Easy. But I aint feeling easy at all.

I believe the post spring game vacation was pretty well known to those who bother to listen to 1420. I think both Hud and Tyla talked about it on the radio about 2 weeks ago. I didn't need inside info of the program to learn that either. They weren't going to finalize a contract while the dude was in Massachusetts. I'll take your tickets off your hands since the deadline for your renewal is today.

My support for the Cajuns is not based on one coach. If we found Hud we can find another good/great coach. I want Hud to stay and the only way that is going to happen is everyone throw their FULL support behind the program. If we are going to be fair weathered fans he will leave for sure. GEAUX CAJUNS!!

Well that settles it for me then. Since this is just a little issue & their resigning of the football coach is of no importance whatsoever. I'll just take my time & chances in renewing my tickets & my recommitment to the program. Of course I'll be lucky to even get tickets anywhere in the stadium, but what the hay? It was a miracle I got em last year right? I mean there were so many of you guys just camping out & waiting in line in late May to get them. Of course the other folks I had on the hook who I brought in with me last season & the other folks I was bringing in this season can wait also. Unlike you guys they seem to think my advice on sports & who to support & when is worth listening to. That's why the other group got their 8 seats last year on my advice. BTW, they didn't seem to have any problems getting primo seats either. I thank you guys for your advice though, & appreciate your honest thoughts & feelings about new folks who are considering coming in to support the program. I'm pretty sure they're getting a good lesson in what you think of them & their support from this thread.

This has less to do with keeping coach Hud (he is still under contract for 4 years) and more to do with appearances for any future hire.

If you can't reward success or appear to be dragging your feet in rewarding success, there is no incentive for a coach to want to come here.

Having said that keeping Hud should be priority one, and if an automatic contract extension with incentives was one of the incentives met in year one, then not dragging your feet is priority one.

This is the issue & why I believe the leadership of this school is dragging it's feet at the present. They seem to be scared. Scared because they know what the overall mentality of the majority of this fan base is. The mentality of the majority overall fan base is exclusionary & acts as though it is a priviledge to suffer the afflictions of the school, no matter how self inflicted the wounds have been thoughout history.

This as opposed to being inclusionary & wanting to see as many people as possible jump on board the bandwagon & support the teams in any way possible. The idea that one is only worthy to support from the wallet down & that anyone who ask a legitimate question with the best intention is told to Please & that they are just a disloyal creetant for wanting to know the status of what should already be a done deal, is repulsive to me. So the folks in the let's keep this thing exclusive by killing the growth, success, & potential of the program, you win again. Now you may give yourselves the secret hand shake & apply the wet tongue to each other's ears.
