UL Basketball Moss Talks Ragin' Cajuns

The plan for sharp-shooting forward Matt Moss after graduating from Anacoco (La.) High School last spring was to enroll at Duquesne, but that changed when the Dukes encouraged him to first attend Charis Prep in North Carolina.

Comments from Moss and his coach on his commitment!

OMG! Comparing this young man to Dirk? This kid sounds too good to be true. Despite the vitriolic insults hurled by some of the riff raff on this board, I will buy season tickets next year if Marlin gets this kid in the foal. ...

There's a big difference between writing "his game has drawn comparisons" to that of Dirk Nowitzki and saying he's as good as Dirk Nowitzki. Comparison straight from those who have seen him play and have coached him. He's a big man who can consistently hit perimeter shots.

Yea what Josh said. Comparing his game to Dirk doesn't mean he will be the next Dirk.

    "4 years" is huge.

Style of play is compared to Dirk, but I gotta tell you and you can run the numbers. You will have a hard time finding 62.3 percent three point hits from a small sample.

Add rebounds, free throw percentage, add forcing their big guys to move away from the paint and this guy creates scoring opportunities for the whole team.

This young man will sell tickets.

Bandwagon is passionate about what he says and I do not find him one bit as described. He and I have had a couple of push offs and IMO he accepted and adjusted his comments where I made a good argument, and did not insult me when I made a good argument.

The problem here is that sometimes people talk at each other instead of to each other. That tends to be the case when you are trying to get a point of view across that should be a term paper and is instead the intro.

Where did BWK say he was as good as Dirk? He said "OMG! Comparing this young man to Dirk?". BWK obviously has had some inflammatory posts, and angered/argued with just about everyone here, but nowhere did he say anything except that he is excited to see this kid play because he was being "compared" to Dirk. Why the need to tell him to be prepared to be wrong? Unless I'm mistaken, BWK has never seen the kid play, or made any comparisons to anybody.

I for one want to know a lot more about the young man named Moss.

A 6'10 guy (or any size guy for that matter) that can shoot 62% from beyond the arc-with or without being guarded- is exciting. I hope Mr. Moss has a great career as a Ragin Cajun.

Hate to break it to you BWK, but this kid won't even start next year, much less play significant minutes as a Freshman. I do. however, believe he will be a good player in the Chris Cameron mold. Figures BWK would get excited, but he is not even remotely excited Alex Andrews, Kentwan Smith and Shawn Long will (possibly) line up with Kadeem and his favorite PG as Ragin Cajuns. WOW - stick to football.

I think he really, really likes the comparison to Dirk!!! Love is in the air for BWK!

Why wasn't he more highly recruited?
