For gender equity, if you use Lady Cajuns then you must use Man Cajuns! I like Ragin Cajuns...period. I've known many a Cajun woman who raged...

also, the live stats are all screwed up, they show Mcneese playing LSU, with an LSU roster but with UL Lafayette on the box score. Way messed up.

Huge game for the Cajuns softball team tomorrow. Going for a perfect non-conference record which GoneGolfing said hasn't happened since I think Arizona St. did it in 2007 or something. I think this will carry alot of weight to the committee come selection time for a regional and and maybe a national seed for a super regional.

Tennessee (30-0) and Alabama (29-0) went undefeated in non-conference play in 2007. Those were the last teams to do it.

Unfortunately, I do not see the Cajuns' RPI being high enough for a national seed. If the Cajuns go undefeated and a lot of things go right (meaning Cajun opponents finish unusually strong), the Cajuns might, might be able to swing an RPI of about 10. But probably about 11-13 in that scenario. The RPI simply favors the stronger conferences too much once conference play kicks in. The Cajuns may be at their zenith (w/ respect to the RPI number) after this weekend. After that, it will be a desperate attempt to hold off the elite conference schools that will be charging hard up the RPI rankings.

LOL yeah it is an endless spiral down into confusion.

Of course when they play on the same day you now need clarification with Ragin' Cajuns Women and Ragin' Cajuns Men.

Alas it was once so simple.

I am amused when some schools introduce the redundant modifier "Lady" to a nickname that is already feminine ... such as the "Lady" Blue Hens.

And then I think about the men competing as the "Blue Hens" and am quite thankful that we have the best nickname in the country.

    No doubt.

The ironic thing is, if you go to RaginCajuns.com or the Advertiser you will be hard pressed to find a story headline that actually uses "Ragin' Cajuns"

There are some but they are few and far between.

Wasn't it McNeese who sported the Lady Cowboys?

The Ragin Cajun brand has plenty of recognition. Specifying gender becomes redundant.
