All you need to know is in the last paragraph. The Big Boys who already have most if the money want it all. And their Manchurian Candidate Emmert is ready to give it to them.

Hammer, I do not dissagree but a reality check. The NCAA needs the big boys, they no longer need the NCAA. The NCAA has a big basketball contract, but so what? If the six BCS confernces decide to pull stakes up they can have a new contract tommorrow.

I will not put all the evil on them. They said recently they do not want the Lamars and Mcneeses of the world telling them what to do. There was a recent attempt to do a modest payment to athletes and it was rejected by the lower divisions, and FCS schools. I think every Sun Belt school voted yes, but it still failed. That did not play well.

IMO Emmert is trying to hold the NCAA together, not trying out for a new job in an elite association.
