Boomer, Boomer, Boomer! I am so disappointed. The negativity is hurtful to the core. This team sneaks up on nobody because they need not sneak up on anyone. They will be perfectly capable of taking a sledge hammer to any team they face & do Plenty damage. Ok. St. knows what we were able to do, not what we are now capable of. There is a huge difference between the two. And it is pretty obvious they can still "sneak" up on opponents. The way it sounds, they are going to sneak up on you & you may have seen more of these guys this year than I have.
Who's to say we don't sweep conference? I wasn't at the spring game but based on the numbers it sounds like the defense was the big winner. With the addition of Fields and hopefully the other guy who's name is eluding me right now, the D could be downright good. We already know the offense is gonna score. Definitely something to be excited about!
I'm looking for at least 10-2. I think Ok. St. is a football machine now. And will be our toughest opponent this season by a stretch. Yet I'm hearing from guys in the know who think we can beat them. Depending on our performance against those guys, this team could have an incredible season. I think we play them tough, but they'll be hard to beat at home. I believe this team goes to Florida & comes back with a W. it all depends on a let down somewhere during the year, whether this team runs the table or not after OSU IMO.
Not to mention, they could easily be one of the best teams in the country this year despite a down year last year. They will blow us out but we will hopefully bounce back
Arkansas State signed just as many quality players as us too. With Malzhan there, they will be amped up just like our team was last year.
I still hold out hope that Malzhan won't be that great of a head coach. I'm not familiar with his track record, but it seams like his claim to fame was having a potent offense at Auburn with probably the most dynamic player to ever play college football. Bustle would have had a 9-3 team with Cam at QB.
A little side note, Bustle was a high profile OC and was just average as a coach.
IDK if you had the chance to see them play last year or not, but their talent is not dominant & their coaching is even less impressive. The fact they let UL snooker them out of 100 Gs more to take a chance on paying out a mill to be embarrassed publicly speaks volumes about the direction of that program.
This team is more than capable of going over there & hanging a loss on them. You now have my upset special for the 2012 season. I just hope Fla. plays well enough before then do that victory will carry some weight with pollsters.
