Auto shows are type of a big deal. Car makers show off the stuff that the public will be able to purchase and concept cars, a few of which become production cars. Chevrolet is taking, among other vehicles, the 2014 Impala to the New York Auto Show.

Starting off fresh

Auto Blog explained that April 4 will be when the New York Auto Show begins. It is going to be a fun filled time with a lot of technology and cars shown off to the general public. Corporations will show what they are going to do in the future.

Everybody is starting to get excited with the few teaser photos showing up on the NY Auto Show Facebook page. One of these new vehicles people are excited about is the Chevrolet 2014 Impala. It is just one of the many things Chevy is bringing to the show.

A brand new model will even be replacing Chevrolet's NASCAR platform. Many people expect the new Caprice will be used as the current Caprice is a police-only car.

All in good rumor

The proportions of the car will be comparable to the Cadillac XTS full-size sedan as the new car is getting a bit of a stretch. These are the rumors depending on the spy photos of test mules that Car and Driver chosen up. Mechanical specifics have not been released yet.

The current Impala can get up to 30 mpg highway driving, meaning it is fairly fuel efficient for its size. About 75 percent of all Impala's sold last year were to commercial fleets, but the company did sell 171,434 units in the year. The engine in that car had a 300 horsepower 3.6-liter V-6 with a six-speed automatic transmission. The new car is anticipated to be comparable.

Bad credit car loans are easier to get than ever

Car and Driver and AutoBlog both project the 2014 model will get a turbo-charged four-cylinder as an option, as well as the eAssist "mild hybrid" system found in the Malibu Eco.

Other new cars to consider

The GT racer and street version of the new Caprice will be appearing also on top of the new Impala and new NASCAR platform.

Chevy is also, according to a press release on General Motors' website, going to flaunt the 2013 Traverse. A teaser photo for the interior of the new Traverse was recently released. Chevy will even flaunt the Spark minicar, also as the Cruze Eco, "Tru 140S" and "Code 130R" concept automobiles.
