Looks like congratulations are in order for the Brodhead family. I really hope this works out great for the UL sports family.

Now I want every single person who moaned about the lack of support, and all we need is this coach to make thing right. You be sure to be at every game. I want to make it impossible for the women to stay in Earl K Long. If you live within 40 miles of Lafayette you need to buy your tickets, and make most games.

So, I wonder how much UL payed that company only for them to recommend that we hire the most obvious candidate out there?

Congratulations to the new head coach. No if's, and's, or but's. The only people who hope he succeeds more than me are himself, family, and friends.

A couple of points about doing a national search. First of all we do not know if he was the most qualified, and will never know. Maybe the most qualified simply decided that this job was not for them, or could not reach accords with UL. Maybe he was the most qualified and the search simply confirmed that.

Your comment implies the search was a waste of time and money. It was neither. Now he can say he was not hand picked, or given the job but won the job in competiton with others.

In any case let the recruiting begin, and the wins.

I think this is a good move. With his ties to the Lafayette area, his involvement in recruiting this area, his daughter coaching high school basketball, and his basketball knowledge.............the program will be successful in the same mold as our softball and baseball programs.

There could not have been a better choice. Thanks to Coach Brodhead for bringing class, character, and a winning tradition to McNeese Women's Basketball. Wish him and the Lady Cajun program the very best in the future. It has been a great honor to work with you and support your efforts the last few years, sir!

If not true, this would be a sick April Fools joke. If true, it's a smart decision. He was ignored by former hiring "experts" because he did not have collegiate experience. He went out and got some. Now watch as he proves those ding-bats wrong.

You move because your team outgrows the gym and brings in 2K to a major arena.

What would be nice is to tare down Blackham, and build a state of the art facility for WBB, Volleyball, seating about 4500.

My point bottom line is I honestly hope he can garner enough support and wins to simply outgrow EKL.
