Drika Wright couldn't have asked for a better way to end her athletic career at Tioga High School.
As a member of the girls basketball team, she helped the Indians reach the Sweet 16 for the first time since 1974.
During track season, the senior finished second in the discus at the Class 4A outdoor state meet with a throw of 115-feet, 2-inches, while also placing seventh in the shot put (34-4.25).
"It was an awesome year," Wright said. "It really couldn't have been much better."
The only thing Wright would have changed about her senior year was maybe getting a little more downtime.
Following basketball season -- which lasted longer than normal with the Indians' extended playoff run -- she didn't even have one full day off before reporting to track practice.
"I just wanted to chill for a while," she said, "but I knew after basketball was finished it was going to be straight into track season."
