What a great idea for an article, or two or three...., in the Advertiser.

But I digress, it really isn't that important

That would take research and the advertiser can't do that lol

The Advertiser ran such an article.

Really. When? If they did I missed it. Can you post the date the article was written so I can look it up?

Was it just one article or did they run separate articles on each individual recruit?

I am almost positive that they did not run an article on them after the MLB draft.

[I don't remember the date. It was well before the draft however.

It was one article...not a real big one.

On one of Dan's baseball articles I seem to recall a "sidebar" with a list of recruits. I remember thinking it would lead to an article later.

    Geaux Cajuns

I found this story on Robichaux and Guillory LINK

    Default Here you go, guys

    What a nice guy I am............sometimes

JOSH BAILEY-6-0, 190 RHP Baton Rouge/ Bethany Christian
    48.1 inn., 22 hits, 110 strikeouts, 21 BB, 8-3, 2 saves, 1.88 era.

Put up great numbers, but in Class C. Has an upper 80's fastball with very good movement. Because he pitched in such a lower class, might be considered a prospect.

    RANDALL BULLIARD 5-9, 150 RHP Lafayette/Westminster Christian
    57ip, 28h, 25bb, 79K 8-2, 1.23 era, 5 CG

Don't let his size fool you. Throws 90+ mph. Will get good seasoning this summer. Again, a pitcher in class A, so we'll see how ready he is to face D-1 pitching this fall. Has some real tools.

    COREY CHAPMAN 6-3, 200 LHP Baton Rouge/LSUE
    43ip 38h 34bb, 48k 6-1 2.28era .242 opp BA

One of the good arms on the national JUCO champions. the 34 walks in 43 innings is a concern, but can make an immediate impact if he clears that up.

JOSH LOGAN 5-8, 160 CF, Magee, MS/Copiah-Lincoln CC
    .360 BA, .474 On Base Pct., 24BB, 49 runs scored, 28-32 SB

Cut from the John Coker mold. Outstanding defensive center fielder who runs a 6.5 60. Pencil him in the leadoff position next season.

    DILLON GUILLORY 6-1 180 C Scott/Teurlings Catholic
    .435 BA, .560 On Base Pct. 8 HR, 37RBI

Outstanding switch hitting catcher with power from both sides of the plate. Very good defensively. Offered by LSU.

    JUSTIN ROBICHAUX 6-1, 200 RHP/1B Crowley/Notre Dame
    .476 BA, .593 On Base, .869 Slugging Pct. 12-2B, 5HR, 47 RBI
    59.1 ip, 29h, 9BB, 79K, 7-2, 2Saves, 1.06 ERA, .142 Opp BA

Could be used as a weekday starter or weekend closer. Fastball in the upper 80's with good movement. Sharp breaking ball and change. Throws Strikes. Could very well be an everyday starter on offense when not pitching, probably at first base.

BRENT SOLICH 6-0, 170 LHP Bradenton, FL/Manatee CC
    59.1ip;78h, 53K, 16BB, 4-3, 3.89

Was drafted by Anaheim after the 2005 season. Crafty lefty who throws strikes. Prime weekday or weekend starter candidate who knows how to pitch.

    TRAVIS WHIPPLE--5-11, 175, OF/1B Morgan City/Central Catholic
    .500 BA, 1.154 Slugging Pct. 5 HR, 15 RBI

Near top of lineup lefthanded hitter. 2006 season shortened by injury.

Those are the signees. But Tony also plans to bring in three transfers. More on that when it becomes available.

Thanks jay... great info..... The type of info you might like to see from your local paper... but enough of that... Any Bird of Paradise thoughts on what the starting line-up MIGHT look like?? I know it is way early but why not give us some "Morning line" thoughts?
