1)People are sick of playing the SBC schedule.
2)Non-conference home schedule sucks.
3)4pm kickoffs are horrible for tailgaters who actually go to the games.(season-ticket holders)
4)Last season's run was nice, but I think too little, too late to have large effects on ticket sales. What I mean is that people just were not impressed.
5)Last 9 seasons, non-SBC 1-A record:
1-46
People thought I was nuts back in '97,'98....., due to my constant and heated ramblings on the amount and severity of damage that was being done to the Cajun football program.
I think a lot of people are still saying "Show Me" before they invest their time and money in Cajun football, and I can't blame them.
We need to keep the progress going, keep winning football games, and hope we have a huge year. We need shock and awe.

I had not thought about the 4 PM games hurting renewals. They don't seem to hurt in the latter part of the season. I like 4 PM games as I am not a big tailgater and you still have your evening after the game. I realize I am in the minority however and want what is best for the program. To make an impact on attendance, we need three consecutive years of 7 or more wins. That needs to start this year.
I"m curious, does the University mail renewal notices?Originally Posted by RedBug58

As you can see, we have become an afterthought in the region and nationally in terms of competitive 1-A football.
To be the man, you have to beat the man. If we want to be considered a good 1-A football program, we have to BEAT good 1-A programs.
We start doing that, and I think you'll see a corresponding spike in season-ticket sales. Well, that, and a few home games with Tulane,Tech, Houston, Rice, SMU, Tulsa, Southern Miss, Memphis.....
Yes they mail renewal notices sometime in March. And if I recall correctly, this year they followed up the written notice with a phone call. I received my call sometime in April.Originally Posted by Tripple Threat

Instead we are suppossed to get all geeked up at the thought of playing mcneese. And there are some that want to make it an annual event. Maybe the admin can have a ticket drive marketed as "back to the Future".

I don't see anything wrong with going 2 for 1 to get a home game with any of Tulane/Houston/Rice/SMU/Tulsa/Southern Miss/Memphis.
The more these teams play us again, the more they will be willing to go 1 for 1. Refusing a 2 for 1 would be the prideful thing to do, but wrong.
