Orgeron Named Player of the Week

NEW ORLEANS – Louisiana's Christi Orgeron was named the Sun Belt Conference Softball Player of the Week after smashing the conference and UL's career RBI record last week, as announced by the conference office on Monday. Troy's Ashley Rainey and FIU's Mariah Dawson were also named the co-Pitchers of the Week.

So.... the Troy pitcher that beats us once and Auburn once, gets co-pitcher of the week....

While Jordan shut them down twice, not to mention beating Ga. Tech.... so a 3-0 pitcher vs. 2-1 pitcher loses out? wth?

oh. and the Cajuns lit her up on Sunday.

Great news for Christy. She is one of the straws of the offense stirring this lights out offense.

In additon to being a socialist league the Sun Belt also is a BS league. Clealy Rainy a co-pither of the week for Troy had two great wins beating both number 8 Louisiana, and 21 Auburn. For some reason they ignored an important loss, one in which she was pulled yesterday.

Still I have to ask why she was named co-pitcher of the week to go with Mariha Dawson of FIU for wins against UNT, and FAU? I guess they are tired of UL winning every week because last I checked Jordon Wallace had three wins, two against Troy, and one agaist GT, and unlike Rainey never lost, nor got run off the mound, or circle to be more accurate.

Still great to see Orgeron being recognized for her great week and career.

To be fair, Jordan didnt have a good outing vs Ga Tech, though she did get the win. She was damn good vs Troy though.

I cant blame the SBC for giving it to a pitcher who beat 2 ranked teams.
