It's going to be hard for Richie Falgout to bid farewell to baseball in favor of football, even for a while.
Of course, it wasn't easy to pare his list down from three sports to two a few years ago, either.
"I played basketball until my eighth grade year at Teurlings," said Falgout, who will represent Lafayette High in this weekend's LHSCA All-Star Baseball Games and is a football signee with the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns.
"I was that 3-pointer guy. I used to love to shoot the '3'."
When he got to LHS, Falgout focused on football and baseball, and has excelled at both. He will play wide receiver at UL in the fall, but not before finishing up an outstanding career as shortstop and pitcher with the Mighty Lions.
He and LHS teammate Alex Hilliard will compete for the West Team at Bringhurst Park in Alexandria tonight, bowing out against some of the best players in Louisiana.
