Drive-By Shooting on Johnston Street Leaves One Injured

The Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office is investigating an early morning drive-by shooting on Johnston Street near Maurice.

The victim is listed in stable condition at a local hospital, recovering from a single gunshot wound to the leg, there was also a passenger in the vehicle who was uninjured.

Deputies are attempting to obtain an accurate description of the suspect's vehicle, as well as a motive for the shooting.

At this time deputies do believe there was some contact between the victim and the suspects, but the nature of that contact is not clear.
