There is a new conference president correct??? Is this going to be a good thing??? Is it true that the conference wants to kick out UALR because they have no football program????

No, there is no move to oust UALR. Yes there is a new president as on 03/15/12.

Sure thought I read somewhere that they wanted to oust them and add Lamar from the Southland conference and possibly La Tech from the WAC. The whole conference "free angency" crap makes me sick. I think NCAA needs regional conferences

Head of the conference is called the commissioner. And I don't think UALR is going anywhere.

WAC and Conf USA were supposed to do some sort of merger now it is going to be Conf USA and Mountain West. Tx State and UT-San Antonio and UT-Arlington were supposed to join WAC. Is it possible that they come to the Sun BElt?? WAC seems to be in trouble

----Beware of the ides of March---but he made it through---Just hope we can be UL and Louisiana and make this a better conference for it---Nevada Reno was upgraded to Nevada and I think it helped them and their conference!!!!

Latest word is that UTSA and UNC-Charlotte will be joining the Sunbelt. This development means La Tech could very well be headed to the Alliance as the WAC will probably cease to exist. I look for several of the other current WAC members to become part of the Sunbelt.

Benson is the former WAC commissioner. I think he'll push for a full merger with what's left of the WAC to form a two division Sunbelt Conference. That may not be such a bad thing. We could add a Conference Championship Game which would hopefully add money to our bottom line. Every other conference seems to be taking the "bigger is better" approach to realignment.

I fully agree with Oiler.......merge, work together for better TV packages and get this behind us.
