  1. UL Baseball ROUX: Randall Bulliard

It is the end of an era for the Bulliard family at Westminster Christian Academy.

Crusader pitcher Randall Bulliard graduated Saturday from WCA and he was only in third grade when his oldest brother Chris was a senior, other brother Jeff was in eighth grade and his sister Alexis was in sixth grade.

Before the youngest Bulliard heads to the University of Louisiana to pitch for the Ragin' Cajuns, Randall will represent WCA one final time this weekend as he will pitch for the West squad in the Louisiana High School Coaches Association All-Star doubleheader.

"It is an honor to be on a team with the best in the state," Bulliard said of the All-Star team. "I could just sit in the dugout watching the others."

The first game will be played 7:30 p.m. Friday at Bringhurst Field in Alexandria and conclude 12:15 p.m. on Saturday with the second game.

Bulliard finished 8-2 as a senior with a 1.228 ERA including 79 strike outs, 30 walks, 30 hits and 10 earned runs in 57 innings pitched.

Bulliard hit .419 this season with 26 hits including three doubles, two triples and 14 RBIs.

The right handed hurler committed to UL before his senior season started, a decision that helped Bulliard relax and enjoy his final year of high school.

  2. UL Baseball Randall Bulliard led Legends dominate

NEW IBERIA - Randall Bulliard pitched well enough at Westminster Christian Academy to earn a scholarship with the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns.

As a member of the pitching staff of the Louisiana Legends, a Lafayette-based 18-under select team, he is one of several standouts.

"I think our team ERA this summer is 0.5," Bulliard said. "Everybody we throw out there is lights-out. It's pretty fun. I just try not to mess it up."

Bulliard fashioned a one-hit shutout in his latest outing, a three-inning, 12-0 mercy-rule victory over North Tangi at Acadian Ballpark on Friday in the Louisiana Legends Open.

Jason Terrell (2-2, home run, triple, two RBI) and Justin Robichaux (1-1, home run, two RBI, walk) helped make it easy.

"I've been throwing pretty good this summer," Bulliard said. "I've been trying not to walk people, to throw strikes. Last year I wasn't too good. I walked a lot of people. I worked a lot with my high school coach (Barry Manuel) on that this year, but it's more me trying to focus."
