That was fun. Let's do it again. Unless, of course, one of you two schools can come up with another excuse for cheating your own fans out of the kind of party you staged for them over the weekend. Your old excuse? The party line that said LSU and UL softball fans couldn't co-exist in the same region, much less the same stadium, without hand-to-hand combat breaking out? Throw that out with the rest of the garbage swept up from LSU's Tiger Park. The NCAA's Baton Rouge Regional was more intense and hard-fought than any of the nation's other 15 weekend skirmishes. The six games included two extra-inning affairs, four games decided by one run and three games determined by the game's last batter. It was a fan's delight, and they ate it up. Both of the Tiger-Cajun matchups drew over 1,200 fans, a whole lot more than either team drew at any home game this season, and the numbers would have been higher if the seats had been available. That's 1,200 paying customers, and they're buying groceries while they're there. But LSU fans were also supportive of the Cajuns in their two wins over North Carolina State, enjoying UL's disdain of small-ball and their swing-for-the-fences attitude. And now, obviously, it's not the fans. Maybe the decorum and class shown in the stands surprised the uppity-up officials at the two schools, but it didn't surprise the rest of us. Maybe you folks in those athletic buildings aren't giving your fans the credit they deserve.

Dead on accurate.. I am SO TIRED of hearing the "Voice of the Cajuns" and the local rag beat writer trying to convince us of something that is just not there...

The truth is that A&M's fans are known throughout the college sports world as being the most inhospitable and downright rude (decorum prevents me from using the terms most used to describe those folks).. Conversely the large majority of opposing fans that come into Lafayette walk away feeling welcomed and DM knows many of them write back and say thanks for the hospitality. To claim it is "balanced" with only a few bad apples on both sides smarts of lacking journalistic integrity... and also smarts of commercialism as the truism that there is a large contingent of A&M fans in this area remains. Cant sell ads if we upset that base now can we??

When was the last time our President had to write to another school's president apologizing for having bottles thrown at a bus carrying school officials to a game DM and JW???? Comeon guys... at least be honest...

Remember the baseball game against South Alabama several years ago when the melee broke out and rocks, amongst other items were thrown at the USA players and coaches? What about the last time the baseball team played in a regional in Baton Rouge when all hell broke loose? Let's see, when was the last time a team that anyone was actually interested in enough, actually go and see the team and/or players arrive on a bus or get to the stadium? "School officials"......how many teams on the football schedule actually send "school officials" to a game in Lafayette?

What about the last time the baseball team played in a regional in Baton Rouge when all hell broke loose? Sooooooooooooooo typical of some of our fanbase, and we wonder why folks throughout this state look down upon us. It's always someone elses fault. It's never the fault of our own players, MUCH LESS the fault of our own school, FANS, or administration. There you go again passing blame on the other team. Go ahead and ask the now head baseball coach of LaTech and see what he tells you about what happened at the regional in Baton Rouge. I dare you! You WILL be surprised to hear what he has to say about ALL events that lead up to the melee! But you don't want to hear that do you smart_____?

Well being honest no I DONT remember that.. I sit on the first base side at all games which is adjacent to the visiting team's fans. We have invited the South Alabama fans to our Sunday tailgaiting and have heard nothing but positives.. This goes back to the 80's...

The School Official quote comes from the LSU Alumni newspaper... aka The Advocate.. The bus contained the "official party"... Play all the semantic games you want but the fact remains YOUR President and AD had to write a letter of apology...

Get your head out of your purple and gold $#@# and you know what I am saying is correct
