Wildlife and Fisheries rescuing more than one hundred people Monday from their homes in Carencro.
Rising water caught many in Carencro off guard and torrential downpours made parts of the city impassable without a boat.
"Water was moving and almost picking the packing car up and moving it. So, it was dangerous!"
Terrance Powell couldn't finish his U.P.S. deliveries.
"It was chaotic. You have water coming up to the steps in the package car. Almost 2-3 feet of water," said Powell.
Wildlife and Fisheries used 13 boats and 18 agents. Homes and cars are underwater, and business windows busted.
"They still have electricity on in all these houses. You have to be careful if you get out of the boat because you may get electrocuted," said Lt. Donald Salpietre with Wildlife and Fisheries.
Live power lines are not the only threat, snakes are slithering in the water. As for those packages from U.P.S, they are "safe and dry" said Powell and they will be delivered tomorrow.
