Inmates Purchase Cigarettes & Lighter Before Arrest

For more than five hours Saturday, two inmates led multiple agencies on a manhunt after escaping from the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center.

Kevin Gildhouse and Tony Jackson escaped just after one thirty Saturday morning. Both men are facing aggravated escape charges and already have a serious criminal track record. Gildhouse was in custody for the alleged first degree murder of a cab driver back in 2009. Jackson was being held on charges including armed carjacking with a firearm and armed robbery.
