Your right there.
9-4 season and a New Orleans Bowl win ....took great team to get that. Glad your excited but really.
Im super excited about this team
we have alot of talent across the board
Qb-We are set,no real worries here...very solid backup in Broadway
rb-i feel zo is going to be an all-conference player this year, effrem reed is going to spectacular, and we see a little montrel carter
Ol- i believe we are set here, o-line performed well last year, should only get better...leanardo bates will play in the nfl
Te- very solid group of guys here, pettis is a hugggge player, great blocker...Maxwell and Ian thompson should see some action in pass catching role
Wr- wow just wow, we are stacked here...our 3 returning starters our back in lawson, peoples and, surgent...Lawson will have another bug year as will peoples and surgent....we also get back James butler who was looking like our best receiver till he tore his acl, also Robinson has been looking like a great receiver, needs to cut down on drops, but he looks like a very solid receiver...not to mention figaro.....how are we going to find ways to spread the ball around
overall our offense is stacked and should be very fun to watch
dl- they look ok as of now, can't wait to get our juco guys in to provide a great pass rush
lb- 2 returning starters in le'Marcus and molbert..qyen is going to be an absolute beast, and will burrowes has been looking great...also we return a couple other key backups here
db- at corner we are looking great with melvin coming back(should be all conference) and moten sliding over to natural position at corner, and he has looked pretty darn good there...also returning is our kickback Sean Thomas, and dexter coin might see the field...at safety we have question marks....tig
barksdale should start at one safety, not to sure who starts at the other yet
i think out defense is going to surprise some people this year... I believe we will be much better this year than we were last year
just my outlook, tell me what y'all think
It was a pretty big issue in the New Orleans Bowl. How many times did that ball roll to Blaine? If Huval and backup healthy I think we blow out SDSU instead of blowing their minds with a historic winning field goal. ;*)
In the end you are of course correct not a big issue.
2 guys that really looked good Saturday were John Curtis RB walk-on Torrey Pierce and Capital/N'west State wr transfer walk on Bradley Brown!!!!
No offense but last year's team at this time was no where near as good as this year's team is right now. They were struggling in many areas to find out who was going to be playing where. That carried itself all the way into a good portion of the season. There was great maturation shown by last year's team, but this team has taken off from where last year's team handed them the baton. I wish those who graduated could have had another year with this coaching staff to see how far they could have brought their level of play. Those guys built a great foundation, But these guys are going to exceed well beyond the marks set by the team last season. In other words this is going to be the best UL football team ever.
If Montrel was number 11 on the field yesterday, UL fans are going to see more than a little of him. I'm, not sure how much of my long winded narrative you absorbed, but I played with Verdin. This guy remeinded me of Verdin when I saw him on film, but right now he's better than Verdin ever was. For the record, Verdin played in the NFL for about ten years I think.
