No AD would ever put out an official list of candidates. When you read about a candidate list, it comes from the media using sources to get the information. Sometimes the source might be in the department but would be anonymous.

I haven't done anything about trying to find out who the candidates are. I just have too much other stuff on my plate right now, not all of which is UL related.

Remember, coaches that Scott might have on his list might still be in, or have just completed post-season play.

Well said... why are we rushing, we need to get the best Coach for the job. This program is in need of rebuilding and it needs to be someone who will come in with a strong work ethic.

Thanks Jay and again I really love your show and really all your broadcastings. I just really would love to see UL get an awesome Lady Cajun's Basketball Coach, so when conferences start looking they can see that UL has a very strong Football Program(heading that way), Baseball, Softball, Mens Basketball(heading that way), and of course Ladies Basketball program!!! Those are the programs that can either make you money and/or bring you recognition to your University and your conference.

How about that Middle Tennessee win over Tennessee!!!!!

Our facilities will be up there in the next several years, Bobby Jindal could help with some time Business tax moves this session!!! Ask about the UL grads, owners of Oil related businesses in the Houston area that would move to Acadiana!!!

Crawfish61 you are absolutely right. This is no way for him to promote his father-in-law. However it is expected. I think this is part of the reason he did not get the job the first time. They seem to have this i know better basketball mentality. And it appears if the player did not come from their aau program they are no good. Rest assure that if he does not get the job the bad mouthing will start. Also, wouldn't it be a little risky to hire someone who has an aau program. Remember our football team got in trouble for handing out t-shirts. Owning an aau team could cause some recruiting problems.

Talked to a successful HS coach who knows the McNeese situation ---says B-Head is the guy that makes it work---Just what I heard-----Don't know many college players that didn't play AAU b-ball---Surely he has already relinquished the AAU deal as an assistant college coach----I sure hope that he gets an interview and after that I trust our AD to do the job that he gets paid for and is either retained or fired from that position!!!!!

--------I guess you kinda get to know all these kids through the years---but the Johnsons and Augustuses of LSU and various kids that my daughter played against at 8 years old were playing for McNeese, S'East, Nichols, Xavier etc. when in college!!!

What does "AAU Ball" got to do with anything? Everything "club" is not AAU. Charlie Domino will tell you there are over 56,000 girls playing "AAU Ball" throughout the country. All are not D-I players and most have never won anything at the National Championship. My choice for the next head coach at UL will be someone that can recruit the best players on the AAU, Elite Summer Showcase, EA Sports Showcase, Southeast Summer Invitational, and all the other big time tournament championship teams, not the teams that pay for play to simply be there. A big plus would be someone with international connections. How many teams did we see in the SBC with dominating foreign players? If UL wants to be bigtime they need a head coach that can attract players beyond it's backyard and that includes Texas. I am not saying you can't win with the best players in LA, TX, MS, and AL, but you won't win with the players LSU, UT, MSU, and UA are not recruiting.

Don't we want to be better than McNeese? Don't get me wrong, I would love to have their record and NCAA trips but this hire should separate UL from all but LSU. That's the message I would send to Scott Farmer.

    Hope he is listening!

I doubt he is... He makes his own decisions, just ask JAY... AAU has the best players playing all summer long. College coaches sign the kids from watching them play AAU ball in the summer. You wont see 40-60-100 coaches lined up at a HIGH SCHOOL game... AAU is the best exposure for the potential college basketball player...

every college coach tries to recruit the kids that play in the showcase tourneys and AAU nationals... If you dont know what AAU has to do with anything, then you might wanna talk to Charlie Domino again... And ask Charlie how Acadiana Stars Girls AAU has been rulling LA. With several top 10 finished at the AAU NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP... SHouldnt we have wanted better than a dancing asst coach the first go round, but we settled... The old Homeboy hookup is what i like to call it.
