i guess if we are going to crown him the new coach we need to learn how to spell his name.

the original post sounds like a prospective applicant (or spouse) who is trying to benefit thyself. ("I have been on hiring committees at several Universities") ...... sureeeeeeeeeeeeee

I do not always agree with Brad, but he is right on with Brodhead.

This is the most important decision in the basketball world for 300 plus fans who actually go to games.

Brad, the word associat head coach means just that. NOT HEAD COACH defers to HEAD COACH. No rookie head coach should hire a family member so if he is hired you should not be until he proves himself. Three or four year recruiting history at McNutt U is NOT the be all of a resume of recruiting prowess. Butch Pierre has been a tremedous recruiter everywhere he has been, yet not hired as head coach.

I am not slamming your choice, and you are biased, but there really could be better options, and of course unless he is hired you will think all fall far short, I get it.

I guess that B-Head's real commitment came when he went to McNeese and left all the stability and what he had built up in Lafayette ----I am trying to think of anything that would be bad in his hire----Never a COLLEGE HC----Don't know about his McNeese job on what he did as far as strategy, recruiting, organization, substitutions, offense, defense, inside or outside coaching--------Do think that he would have the intrinsic motivation for the school, has coached at all age levels, coached his kids (important), just getting back to UL to recruit, knows the problems that ER had and I think how to fix them, Knew the success that JKH had and what caused it, and has worked OUTSIDE the public sector (IMPORTANT)!!!!!!

You mistake caution with hate? You mistake real fair questions with hate? You clearly are too close to the situation. If Broadhead were the clear number one no matter what, how come he is still an assistant in his mid life, he should be on everybodies list. On the other hand if he is only number one for UL, then he really is not number one.

Just for the record, UL signed the 18th, 26th and 43rd ranked players in the State of Texas, including two All-American nominees, plus two Louisiana All-State players. Four of the five are listed as 3-star athletes, if you're a star-gazer. And all four have a 3.0 GPA or better.

    I'll take that group.

I agree with cajun express. If Brodhaed is so good why is he still an assistant, especially at McNeese. And if he was so good in high school, why just one state championship. It sounds like he should have dominated at the lower level. He had the player for it. Lost to Kaplan one year that made to the finals. Not the best coach there. Just a thought.
