And, we are playing Rice from C-USA, which is a conference we would like to be associated with. Our facilities will make an impression on Rice and C-USA who will be covering it. But, can we make an impression with attendance?

Unfortunately, Tim is on one of those forced furloughs from Gannett.

The tournament officials are calling us UL Lafayette. Maybe when they get to Lafayette, our AD and SID can convince them to call us UL and Louisiana which will be particularly important if we beat Rice. You know McNeese won't call us that but might have to if the tournament does. Anyway, a great opportunity to make some inroads on a national level with this exposure.

Dion Rainey beat UAB in 1980 in the NIT with his deep corner shot. He was long gone by the time we played Florida in the NIT. When we beat Florida in the 1985 NIT, George Almones and Cedric Hill were key guys. Florida missed a close in shot at the buzzer to let us escape with the win. We lost the next 1985 NIT game to Tennessee on the road due to several missed free throws and turnovers in the last minute. In the 1985 NIT, guys like Graylin Warner, Dion Brown, and Alonza Allen had moved on. They reached the NIT semi finals in 1984.

I just read an email on my school account saying that all students get into the game free with a valid student ID. This is great news!

They wait to see who wins. Then, determine the next round matchups.
