I read somewhere, maybe ragincajuns.com?... that because it is a tournament sponsored by CIT and not considered a Home game.... that you cannot have special ticket options. Even students have to pay. With your ID though, I think you get a ticket for $5.

  10. UL Basketball Students To Receive Free Admission To CIT Games

UPC, SGA, Sodexho Campus Dining & Louisiana Spice Catering To Cover Admission Costs

LAFAYETTE, La. -- University of Louisiana students will receive free admission to Wednesday night's Ragin' Cajuns men's basketball game after several UL student groups and campus corporate partners agreed to sponsor the tickets.

The group, consisting of the University Program Council (UPC), the Student Government Association (SGA), Sodexo Campus Dining and Louisiana Spice Catering, agreed to cover the cost of all student tickets for any postseason tournament games played in the Cajundome this year.

Originally, under CollegeInsider.com tournament guidelines, students would have had to pay a $5 admission charge.

"Because of the wonderful opportunity for our men's basketball team to host a game in postseason play, we feel it is equally important to allow our students to share and support in this excitement by allowing them into the game free," Anthony Daniel, Director of the UL Student Union said.

"We would like to thank our sponsors -- University Program Council (UPC), Student Government Association (SGA), and Sodexo Campus Dining -- for remembering our motto, 'Remembering That Our Students Come First' and making this all possible."

"I would like to thank everybody for stepping forward to guarantee that our students will be able to attend Wednesday night's basketball game for free," UL Director of Athletics Scott Farmer said.

"Being able to bring a CollegeInsider.com Tournament game to the Cajundome was a big step in the development of our basketball program and it is important to us that our students be able to celebrate the accomplishment.

"I have said many times that one of the things that makes UL athletics so special is that we have so many people who are willing to help out in whatever way they can. This is just another example of that Cajun spirit."

"I appreciate all the support that we have received to promote the game against Rice this week," head coach Bob Marlin said. "A good student crowd is so important to our success because they have the energy to ignite the crowd and create a great playing environment. We've been told time after time by opposing coaches how enthusiastic our student body is and what a great atmosphere we have in the Cajundome. I am really looking forward to Wednesday night."

Students who plan on attending the game will need to show their university ID for admission.

This will be the first time that the Ragin' Cajuns host a postseason tournament game in Lafayette since defeating Florida, 65-64, at Blackham Coliseum in the 1985 NIT.

Tickets for the game are now available for purchase. Ticket prices for the contest are $20 for courtside seats, $15 for first and second level seats between the baselines and $10 for second level seats in the endzone and all third level seats.

Season ticket holders will have until 12:00 noon on Tuesday (March 13) to reserve their regular seats for the game. After that deadline, all remaining seats in the Cajundome will be available for public sale.

And, we are playing Rice from C-USA, which is a conference we would like to be associated with. Our facilities will make an impression on Rice and C-USA who will be covering it. But, can we make an impression with attendance?
