Good thing Rob didn't know about that complaint..... he would have aired A request asking them if they are the parents who complained about their kid having to speak English in classes at A&M CC. Or the ones who were miffed when "PRESS 2 for Spanish" was removed from the food stamp offices in Austin and Del Rio.
Sports and politics do not go together. Religion and politics don't either but people have a hard time distinguishing between the two. While representing UL I would hope he would refrain from any political banter, regardless of the political climate of South Louisiana. There is a place for that...it's called KPEL 96.5 FM. Also, it seems some people forgot our ancestors didn't speak English either when they came over. My how times have changed.

You are comparing apples to oranges. How sure are you that had the Acadians been deported in 2000 instead of 1800 that the majority of our people would not be suckling at the federal teet? I know several people of Cajun descent, too many to count actually who already do(WIC, Medicaid, Food Stamps). What was considered an illegal at the time of Le Grande Derangement? Our ancestors were chastised and ostracized for their lack of English speaking ability, same as you are doing today to Spanish speaking individuals. I guarantee that, had our ancestors arrived around 2000, there would be French speaking phone options at every government office and many other establishments. And I also guarantee you that someone would have a problem with it.
Not saying that he is not a good guy. That he is. Just not a very good PA announcer. Not concerned about what comes out of his mouth in his comic retain, just would like to understand the flow of the game in introductions and who is coming to the plate and info after each inning. Runs, hits and errows.........and yes the 50-50 numbers could be a little more plainly called out.....but he is stlll a nice guy.
