The University of Louisiana softball team is two wins away from no worse than a share of its seventh straight Sun Belt Conference title.

The 13th-ranked Cajuns (42-10, 9-3 Sun Belt) travel for a wrapup league series against Middle Tennessee (19-37, 6-6) Saturday and Sunday, and two wins would assure UL of at least a tie for the title. Any combination of three UL wins or Florida International losses would give the Cajuns the outright title.

FIU (25-25, 8-4) hosts Troy and Western Kentucky hosts North Texas in the other season-ending matchups. Results from the weekend games will determine seeding for the Sun Belt Tournament, scheduled May 11-13 in Miami, Fla., hosted by FIU.

The Cajuns won the league tournament in 2000 before the conference adopted a round-robin schedule, and has won the regular-season title each year since that play began in 2001. UL has also won the postseason tournament each year and holds an overall record of 19-0 in Sun Belt Tournament play.
