Do they have one? I would love to be president if it payed well and required little or no effort.
Fellas...its a football game. One one needs to miss a day of school or have a business close so you can attend (I can even make the start of the game from NOLA). If getting there 4 hours before kickoff is so important then you can take a vacation day and pull your kids out of school. There are plenty of ways to market a game without shutting down businesses and schools.
A Tuesday night game is not only a promo for UL but for the city of Lafayette. The city should do all it can to encourage businesses and citizens to support this game, for fans to come out early and tailgate, and to create a major college atmosphere at Cajun Field. This goes a long way in defining who UL and the city of Lafayette are to the rest of the country. With all of the national publicity of LUS fibre cable on the city and UL's academic and athletic achievements, it is a wonderful opportunity to showcase both in a solo spotlight on ESPN.
I don't know why everybody is freaking out about the game being on Tuesday... For one you have 6 months tp request vacation time for Monday Tuesday and Wednesday if you live out of town
i know one thing Im prolly calling an early day at school to tailgate
Im super pumped about this game
if you don't recall we had Thursday game against osu two years ago that was televised... We still managed to get a decent crowd, and we sucked that year
with The bowl win, we will have at least 3000 new fans that never been to a game before wanting to come this year

Thursday Game Average over 2009-2011-17,824-4 games
Friday Game Average over 2009-2011-25,881-1 game
So...Weekly Game Average over the last three years is above the three year home game average. Tuesday games are right at the average as expected. Middle had a game with 28k on a Tuesday night but looking at the data it looks like an exception, take that game out and it's below average. Thursday games are hurt by the ASU-WKU tilt that only drew 4k, throw out that one game and Thursday night games are above average. Friday games have no basis for comparison. But most games I watch on Friday nights are well attended.
What does all this mean? Tuesday games draw awful. Thursday and Friday games are the choice slots. Benson needs to get with ESPN and get the SBC something on ESPNU for Friday nights. Tuesday ain't working.
Im just saying why is everybody bit**ing and moaning
you have 6 months to prepare for the game...request off
do what you have to do to be there
its not like its only a couple weeks notice
Tuesday is great.Think about if the OK ST wasn't on a friday night. We lost alittle attendence to Friday night High School games. This is the perfect chance for all the kids out there to come watch the Cajuns.Plus Thursday also has some High School games too.
And it all means NOTHING. As long as the CAJUNS are no worse than 4-2 going into that game (realistically, they SHOULD be 5-1 by that time!), the place is going to be PACKED because the CAJUNS will be playing the defending Sun Belt Champions, probably for FIRST PLACE in the Conference!!
Actually, the game against Ok. State was a Friday game which is a different time with different issues such as high school football but I got your point. I actually think we'd have more people in the stands for the Thursday game versus the Friday game and I think its a bigger spotlight as most people tend to watch the college football on ESPN on Thursdays.
So the difference b/t a Tuesday and a Thursday is nothing unless you throw out the best game on Tues and the worst game on a Thur. You should have been a statistician! How is a MT vs Troy game for the SBC championship an anomalous attendance?
I look at your statistics and I see that other than a Saturday night game on ESPN, Tuesday is the second best option.
Tuesday is working just fine.
Didn't we host UNT some 5-8 years ago on a Thursday night on ESPN2?
