The Louisiana Board of Regents on Thursday approved a sweeping overhaul of programs at public universities.
In all, 80 duplicated programs were terminated, and 50 more were merged or consolidated into 21 programs.
Also, 18 partnerships and collaborations will be formed among campuses.
More than 600 academic programs have been eliminated since 1989, Commissioner of Higher Education E. Joseph Savoie said. "This time the board went a little bit further,"
