@playincajun, I'm sure we enjoy all your in depth intel about the team, but it really isn't helping the image of the team for your buddy Raymone or any other teammates that you may be friends with with all the inside scoop that you are just vomitting all over this forum.

"Some of u guys post really get me sometime because imo, u really don't know the game of basketball, idk where to start, lets go with payton, to say he is not a point guard is pure ignorance, someone brought up rondo in an early post and they were correct, stop watching nba scoring point gaurds like, westbrook, derrick rose, d Williams etc and expect every pg to be like that, those guys are really sg who can handle the rock. Payton turnovers has nothing to do with his lack of ball handling, its more about his decision making which will come in time, he just turned 18. As far as jj is concerned, if you notice, it seems like his baskets are tuff to go by this year. Its really simple, jj is the perfect case of a strong undersized post player, think about who he had on the court with him last year, daigle, bureau, gary, and brown, when jj was on the court with these guys, he got a lot of easy buckets because you couldn't leave the other players to double team jj, so he was always 1 on 1, now with a lack of perimeter shooting, teams can now collapse on jj and make his shot tough,I hate that this suspension has happen, neither side wins, but as someone who knows more about this situation than 99 percent of u on this board, please reframe from jumping to conclusions either way. I like marlin, mone and jj, all I can say is I wish they could've have seen eye to eye, if anybody have anything they want to say or ask me, feel free, I will respond but as someone who has recently been apart of this staff, I will not say anything to discredit this program "

Honestly, I still don't see why so many of you guys worship Bob Marlin as this GodSend basketball coach. Yes he is above .500 this year(barely and after tourney might not be) and somehow mastered a better record than last year. but It is still not very impressive to say the least. There is potential in the players but I see there are alot of communication problems apparently with the team. Maybe he's not vocal enough, Maybe he's not enthusiastic enough, IDK but I don't think he deserves as much credit as he is given.

The word "worship" is a little strong don't you think? What we respect is his track record which is extensive and provides a level of proof of his ability to lead a program to wins and conference championships even if its not a premier program. Bob Marlin has shown much more evidence of his ability to lead a program the right way and win than Raymone Andrews or J.J. Thomas have in their brief time here and that is why I will trust his judgement in these matters until proven otherwise. Plus, he's dealing with young men who are in college and will, at times, make poor decisions or do things they regret and I think that is the case.

First, Marlin inherited the guys he supposedly "chased" as you refer to it. Second, those guys, as mentioned previous to this, truly sucked and I'm sorry to say it. It was my understanding that coach wanted Wallace to finish but he was injured and had graduated in December and didn't return. Batiste was the worst decision in regards to recruiting that I can recall in a while and while he did hustle and play hard, he truly had no talent. He was also able to replace these very guys with the likes of Coleby, McClellan and he had Odayne Clark who likely would have been a very nice player for us had he been cleared. Coach was trying to win and get talent in here and its no different than Hud who has had several players leave for various reasons and will likely have more leave before next season even starts. It happens.

My plan is to keep EP at the point and he has to play about the entire game----the 2 has to be done by a Perez, AMT, and Mbam that have to play at a level that they have shown in spurts this year already-----BBoyd needs to help me on how to sub for EP---guess one of the 2s----now we got Smith, McC, Kasheen, Scotty(played a lot in the last tourney I think) and Josh to do the inside best they can----That is the 9 guys we go with and would like some thoughts on it---I say I wouldn't mind going out on the floor with these guys!!!! Oh I would kick Perez in the ___, kiss him, or do something to get his ___ in gear!!!! Give the team over to McC and Josh to lead and let EP run the show!!!! Damn I wish I was going again!!! Still might find a way!!!!

Call it what you will. Here are the facts. Marlin and JJ have a disagreement. Marlin suspends him. JJ will probably not be on the team next year.

Two years from now we will be saying Marlin either took control of this team or lost this team the day those two players were suspended. I for one hope it is the former and not the latter.

Boomer, I love your enthusiasm but with what is going on with this team, I think there is no chance to move out of the first round of the tournament. I'm not being negative but rather, I just feel that there is no way this team will be able to move past the major distractions that it has produced for itself to win 3 games in a row.

Can you do basic math? Even if we lose the first game we are still above .500, there is no way for us to loose more than one game this year unless we make it to the NIT. That's not going to happen unless we reach the conference finals, if then!

Well just what just came out?????? The SB All-Conf Team---We get 1 guy---Josh as a second teamer-----We are not a talent loaded team---We did very well considering our lack of talent----The talent we thought we had did not show up----JJ went from the pent house to the out house---he really was not a very good player this year compared to a fabulous performance last year----the guy is HURT--I saw it up close and in B-ball it means everything!!!!Damn what were out 3 pt %s couldn't have been good!!!! Well these all-Whatever teams generally show what the S-writers and/or coaches think about the talent on one's team!!!!

Agreed. Sad indeed. You may very well have hit the nail on the head here. If both were going to ask out at the end of the season, and Coach got wind of it, that would be "detrimental to the team" if it was a known fact. Again, this is sad for that program...a program that hasn't had a whole lot of happy in recent years.
