I know nothing about this situation but I do know a coach does not suspend a player without reason.

I want answers to why we were blown out at home, in front of the largest crowd of the season, with a possible conference championship on the line, and playing a team hated by the fanbase who had won 2 games this season, and hadn't beaten the cajuns in lafayette since Eisenhower was in the White House. I have a feeling, the answers to that question will answer the questions you have. You said it yourself, he didn't leave it all on the floor that night, and my guess is in the locker room, the guys who chocked that loss up as "just another loss" are the ones suspended right now.

We know nothing of what happened. The students could be 100% right, and Marlin could be crazy.

Or their suspension was justified, but it may or may not make them "low character."

Define high character. We were told that this same group which just had two suspensions were high character. I think this about philosophy, not character. I wrote down my observations from the game Saturday night & what I observed was a team being expected to follow a seventeen year old boy who plays out of control up & down the court. The coach has a vision of this seventeen year old leading them to victory, but it aint happening.

I will say this because the only dog in the hunt for me is wanting to see the team be successful. Coach Marlin has made the choice to tie his wagon to a horse named Peyton. If that horse turns out to be Secretariat, he will look like a genius. Right now that horse looks like a candidate for a $500 claiming race. Maybe the upper classmen on the team know this? You can't tell a young man he needs to be a leader & then whent he attempts to talk to you like a leader, you tell him I'm the boss & that's the way we're gonna do it. I'm just saying & that's from a million miles away.

I can promise you that after everything comes out, if it is found that Coach Marlin suspended RA with NO justification, the Cajun Nation will NOT be pleased with Coach. It is just that most people assume that the coach will not normally suspend a player without some sort of justification (whether or not it is warranted). That is giving the coach the benefit of the doubt. That is typically how things work. If we always give the players the benefit of the doubt, what does that say about the coach's authority? Now if the coach abuses that authority, then he deserves to be sent packing. Right now, it is too early to know what has happened. Thus we are in the "support the coach" phase. That can change if the facts come out to cause a change. It remains to be seen which way this will go.

Privacy issues prevent ANYONE from stating issues surrounding suspensions. These guys would be set for life if this were made public. i.e. another "entitlement" for doing nothing.
