Boy I hope Marlin stays here long enough to build our program. It appears now that it may take longer than we originally thought.

On coach Marlin's radio show Monday night, Jay quoted Perez as saying this was the closest knit team he had ever been on and he mentioned a second echo (not sure which player) on the subject.
Coach Marlin said something to the effect This may be the closest team "they" have ever been on, but I have been coaching 30 years and I would not put this team near the top.
He did mention the lack of JJ having a game jersey being on when he pulled off his warm up jersey. There was no follow up, unless I missed it.
Someone needs to make Marlin and the athletic department answer the questions. Raymone has not done anything detrimental to this team. He is being used as a scapegoat. This is a pure shame. What conduct? This needs to be investigated and not run with in the press. Raymone has played hard for this team all year. He did not practice bad last week as was said in the paper, the decision to play E with the seniors was a coaching decision early on in the week. When we lost it was easy to act like Raymone had not done what he was supposed to. Someone needs to step up and fix this.
So your saying RA is busting his tail at practice and during the games and Marlin just decides to blame Andrews for the loss? No one here is that naive. I to would like some more clarification on this issue, but if RA did nothing wrong he would not be suspended right now.
why would coach just throw raymone under the bus?? if he needed a scape goat JJ didnt have a freakin jersey on and was disinterested. he had a built in scape goat. that doesnt make sense
completely agree with you. coach would NOT just throw raymone under the bus.
There has seemed to be some internal attitude issues for a little while now. Don't have a clue as to why, but it was glaringly apparent Saturday night. It has probably been brewing for a while. And I agree that the Pancake reversal was a big clue that something was amiss. Damn shame because attitude problems are the hardest thing to get fixed. It usually (but not always) requires a removal of the person(s) with the problem attitude. I really loved the way JJ played last year and I thought Raymone was really starting to show some growth earlier this year. JJ's injury and how all parties involved dealt with it may have had a part in this. Raymone's issues I have no clue about. I just recall that he had a little off-season problem that seemed to be put away. I am sorry to see this for the team, but I am also sorry for the 2 guys. I hope they can all get this resolved and everyone can move on to bigger & better things next year, regardless of how it is resolved. I think for the SBC tourney, either this situation will kill the team and we get blown out (that was my initial feeling), or the remaining teammates pull together and they play really well (with these suspensions being done early in the week - it gives them time to refocus). I am thinking the second scenario is now more possible. We'll see ...
Slappy first off after three years its Raymone. The suspension the beginning of the year was becasue he was lied to by the coaching staff on housing and when he questioned what happened it blew up. Marlin actually apologized to Raymone for the meeting. Now so get the facts. He has not done anything. Ask the right questions instead of just taking it a face value.
I did not notice Raymone mailing it in Saturday night, but I did notice his shooting was horrible and his defense was a bit lax...of course that could be said for most of the team.
Isnt playincajun related to one of the players?
