Kyle Pritchard, who finished third in the Texas Class 4A ranks as a junior last spring, has become the University of Louisiana's second golf signee for this year.
Pritchard, a product of Castroville, Texas, near San Antonio, tied for first in last year's Class 4A regional competition as an individual. He and his Medina Valley High team then finished third in the state meet.
"He's put up some very good numbers," said Cajun coach Bob Bass. "Right away he'll give us some depth that we have been lacking."
Pritchard joins Lafayette's Stephen "Petey" Smith, who inked with the Cajuns during the fall signing period prior to his senior season at St. Thomas More, as UL signees this year.
Pritchard was a member of the San Antonio Express News "Super Team," which included the top five players in the San Antonio area among all classifications. He is a three-time All-District selection from his freshman, sophomore and junior seasons, and is currently involved with regional competition.
