Talked to both Mike Mayock and Charles Davis about Bentley and Green and they're very high on both players. Davis really, really likes Bentley right now. He's making plays in practice, shutting down receivers in one-and-one and generally looking the part. I think if he can have another good day tomorrow, his draft stock will go through the roof.
The love for Ladarius has been pretty steady all week. NFL scouts I've talked to all love his athleticism and passion. I guess the only doubts they have are blocking, but hell if he ends up being a Jimmy Graham or Marques Colston, it won't matter a lick. Mayock has him ranked as the No. 1 tight end here at the Senior Bowl and No. 4 tight end overall. Looking like a third or fourth round pick right now, but could play himself higher this week.
Watched the practice, and Bentley made it clear he is there to compete.
The last person the South quarterbacks wanted to see when they arrived on Sunday was UL cornerback Dwight "Bill" Bentley.
The only redeeming thing about seeing Bentley's bright smile was the fact that come Saturday afternoon, those quarterbacks know he'll be some other quarterback's headache.
As fate would have it, Bentley and the Ragin' Cajuns played against all three quarterbacks on the South roster ...
The rest of the story
Bentley is the man....Bentley was the cornerback who made the biggest jump, showing not only the physical ability, but the swagger and self-confidence often requisite at the next level. Bentley was decisive in his coverage decisions and also showed the ability to play the ball well in the air. Bentley may have helped his draft stock more than any other player at the Senior Bowl.
I don't recall Detillier remarking on Bentley, but he is a perfect example of a guy moving up an NFL draft board after the season is finished. It isn't that he wasn't that good the whole time, it's just that he could have gone a long time without getting noticed. Great play in the SBC along with team accomplishments have given him the opportunity to show his skills against other guys in a national setting. He is now taking control of his own situation & showing why he deserves to be given the respect of professional draftee. Like I said after seeing this guy in one spring practice, he's got IT & will be on somebody's NFL roster this fall without a doubt.
This is the latest story I read on NFL network about Bentley. Pretty impressive. Sorry if Germans.

Was watching Sportscenter and Mel Kiper listed Bill as the top under-the-radar defensive back. Said he goes no later than the 4th round, and he should be a starting corner.
Get em' Bill.
