Cajuns Softball moves up to 12th in latest poll

Ouch for them.
The ONLY thing I am eyeing right now is winning enough to have an RPI high enough to host. My prediction is that if we host we go to the WCWS.

I think we should be in the 5th or 6th area. We seem to have to work twice as hard as the big name schools to get a decent ranking.......

There is some truth to what you said. However, there are a number of "name" schools below us who are doing pretty well. Like Florida State and Auburn (both undefeated) and Arizona. Currently, there are 8 teams in the rankings who are undefeated. 4 of them are below us, and 2 are the #1 & #2 teams. So, I think we are right about where we should be for now. I think moving into the top 10 in the next poll is certainly possible. As others have said, just keep on winning!

Pretty sure that if we stay in the TOP 25 throughout the season, we will host a regional, no doubt. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the NCAA has said all along that we would've been hosting regionals if we had a better stadium. They know what Lafayette has to offer in the realm of food, entertainment, and nightlife so they've always wanted us to host one. I think by getting the stadium accomplished, we're gold.

Being ranked in the Top 25 polls has no bearing on hosting regionals. Being ranked in the Top 25 of the RPI does have a big impact on hosting a regional.

I would think that sweeping this weekend (which we should), and then having a great showing in the Judy Garman would easily get us into the top 10. We've struggled there though so the ladies will have to play their best.

We have to try to forget about the rankings and just play the game we have been playing all season. Yea being a higher seed and hosting would be amazing, but let's take care of business!! If we do that, we won't have to worry about rankings! Lol
