We're 5 games into a season and several seem to think its over already. Amazing.
We are not a solid team right now...and our youth is showing at times. Another game with 4 errors...and an outfield "mistake" should have been ruled the 5th.
But we freakin won the game. We pitched well overall. I'm excusing Zim cause he was trying to pitch with an injury and couldn't go any further. But then a FRESHMAN came in and held that rope till Hicks could come in and turn the lights out. And Hicks was just that...lights out. And we hit well. Could have hit better in a couple of key spots, but overall we got it done.
And the end was fun to watch. A bit more dramatic than I would have liked, but fun to see Compton lay down a PERFECT bunt to bring in the winning run.
For those giving up already...we WON. Now for game 6.
PS...for those who gave up on the season after only 5 games, I hope your wives make you spend the day shopping at Bed, Bath and Beyond!!
Yep, Zim was working through a hamstring that he thought he could get through per Robe.
So completely impressed by Matt Hicks. Gutsy performance bailing his fielders out twice. With him, Kellogg, Austin, and Cord we have a tremendous core of young arms
I'm surprised to learn how few UL sporting events hawk attends.
Sidenote, this year's beer selection is excellent. THEY HAVE STELLA!
Well many of our position players are young, and losing two pitchers before the season started means this team has to grow and mature. I can only hope they become tough and be ready for post season play.
I do believe everybody here expects the Cajuns to always be in post season, go deep in the regionals. If not it cannot be a successful season.
Its called having a young daughter who can't make many sporting events. I also only made two days of work this past week because of an upper respiratory virus. Sometimes life gets in the way. I didn't want to miss last night's game...but I did. Does that make me less of a man? Is the 8 really necessary in your name?
