I don't think Wallace is incapable, just that she's a true freshman. Hence, it would be nice to have Hamilton (and her experience) available. Softball is getting to the point where you may need 3 quality pitchers, and as of right now, apparently we have 2 that have the trust of the coaches. One has injury concerns, and the other is a true freshman. When Ashley is right, she can beat anybody in the country, but if Wallace were to struggle (like she did against Michigan), and Ashley has to bail us out, can she stay strong enough to start half the games, and finish the other half? I hope so, but that may be a lot to ask in today's game. All that said, with the defense this team plays, the speed and power the offense displays, and whatever they do get from Jordan and Ashley, it just may be enough. And I'm hopeful that it is because this group is special.

I'm not disagreeing with you, just wanted to let you know what others with softball backgrounds have told me about Wallace. Also, remember that until Hamilton was injured last season, it was basically a two arm rotation with Brignac and her. It would be nice to have three arms that are ready, but it doesn't look like anyone is ready to step up right now. That could change at some point this season.

I'm also not disagreeing with anybody. My original point was that it would be nice to have Hamilton THIS year. It's a special team, and I'd hate for a lack of pitching depth to doom it. Yes, last year, we had a two arm staff, until one got injured, and then we were done. As for Wallace and her talent/abilities, I think she will be great, but like I said originally, she is a true frosh. Ashley beat the #1 team in the country in the WCWS as a true freshman, but I think we can agree that she was as good as any freshman pitcher in the country that year, and probably one of the best ever.

I guess I should have not even brought it up because Hamilton isn't playing this season, no matter how many "what ifs" are brought up. Good luck to the ladies. May they all stay healthy and fulfill their potential.

Unless it changes, #3 Allie Chenault, #4 Shelbee Rodgers & #5 Maggie Ham.

I think #3 and #4 might have to be switched.

I'm with you, unless something's happening that we don't know about. But based on last year I'd take Rodgers over Chenault

Have to say based on watching fall ball games that Chenault was #3. She shut Houston pitching a complete game.

I would love to see Rodgers and Prophet pitch more, both have experience. To be successful I think we are gonna have to use all of them.

I think you'll see both in once the mid-week (non-conference) games start.
