What University of Louisiana football coach Rickey Bustle wasn’t able to completely accomplish on National Signing day in February he more than compensated for nearly two months later.

Bustle continued to stockpile talent and depth on his roster with three additional signees — pushing the total of the Ragin’ Cajuns’ class to 24.

“These were guys that we were on and because of different reasons, we got them after signing date,’’ Bustle said. “They’re all qualified and good students.’’

UL, co-champion of the Sun Belt Conference, signed two players on offense — tackle Nasser Jamal (6-foot-5, 255 pounds) of Vancouver, British Columbia and wide receiver Marlin Miller (5-11, 175) of Rowlett, Texas — and one defensive prospect — cornerback Junior Jean (6-0, 175) of Del Ray Beach, Fla.

The addition of Jamal and Miller give the Cajuns 10 signees on offense, including five offensive linemen and four wide receivers, respectively, while Miller provides the defense with its 13th signee and fourth defensive back.

“We have certain numbers at each position,’’ Bustle said. “We don’t get into, right at the crunch time at the end, and sign the best available. Some people do that and there’s nothing wrong with that. But these were numbers that I had laid out going into recruiting and as we went through it, we wanted certain numbers at each position and we felt like at that time we had some guys we were looking at that we had a chance to sign.’’
