Any Petroleum Engineering guys here to help him make up his mind?

That combo sounds like it would be more suited for R&D type work which would be a separate arm of my company though we do refer candidates to that division when we come across them in the interview process. But for us those positions are not as plentiful as reservoir, drilling, facilities or production engineers.

Ok yeah definitely would make for a good R&D position, but I feel like I would enjoy being on the field near a job site more. Would probably be helpful to do some internships to see how I enjoy working as maybe a reservoir/drilling engineer before I decide with certainty what I really want to do.

Internships are the way to go. Gives you a taste of the job and really allows you to show what you can do. The majority of our interns wind up getting full time offers. It's not automatic but it really gives them a chance to shine much more than the one hour interview.

Others here could give you better advice than me but if you're interested in working in the petroleum industry why not just get a pet. engineering degree and either minor or master in something more specialized? I think that would give you way more options for employment in the industry.

Actually, I already have a bachelors in envt engr. I am considering a masters in pet eng now though, unfortunately no schools in Georgia offer pet eng.

Any possibilities of interning somewhere this summer, perhaps? I wouldn't even mind if it is just shadowing some engineers on the field and if it were unpaid.

Canterbury Square, Steeple Chase and Maison Bocage are pretty good places in the middle of town.

Campus Edge, University Square, and UL has some 5000 new dorms right on campus. All these areas are safe! UL also has its own police force!
