Lady Cajuns Grab Mardi Gras Invitational Title

Louisiana’s softball team added another title to their 2012 campaign Sunday as they were named the 8th Annual Mardi Gras Invitational champions after an undefeated 4-0 weekend. The Cajuns (7-0) made short work of their opponents, winning both of their contests Sunday in six innings.

Ok, I'll bite. Why does coach like being the home team? Are you sure it's home team, not visiting team? I was there for the seven games the Cajuns played and I THOUGHT that they were always the Visiting Team. Isn't that when your name goes up first on the scoreboard?

That is correct. We were visitors in all the games so far. If ML wins the flip, he takes visitor and if loses, the other team always wants to be home. He's always felt it was advantageous to be on offense first, to put the pressure on the other team. It also guarantees that we will bat for a full 5 innings. Not so if we are home and run rule our opponents. Only in tournament play does he do this.
