Lady Cajuns Reel Off Two Wins To Open Mardi Gras Invitational

The Ragin’ Cajuns softball team completed the double-header sweep Friday afternoon as they defeated UTEP, 11-1 in five innings and Big Ten opponent, Northwestern, 6-4.The Cajuns (5-0) received terrific pitching efforts from Jordan Wallace (2-0) and Ashley Brignac (2-0).

It's one thing to beat up on Prairie View and Maine. It's something totally different to destroy UTEP and beat Northwestern University with a few runs to spare. So far, this team looks pretty darn good.

Yea they look pretty good. They did have to hold off Northwestern, and failed to score when it would have been helpful in the later innings.

Oh, well I know you gotta win some close ones that you thought would be pretty easy, and I though NW would be one of those considering a pretty large lead.

Overall off to a great season. Impressed with our true freshman.

I know the ladies always get off to a great start but this is amazing! With orgeron and cormier hitting the way they are it is going to take a good pitcher to stop the lady Cajuns!
