Thread: Denver knows how to take advantage of the altitude

  1. UL Basketball Denver knows how to take advantage of the altitude

Denver knows how to win big in the thin air of the Mile High City. Since 2005 Denver has beat 11 opponents by 22 points or more at home, 6 opponents by 25 points or more. With the exception of a couple teams they were all teams Denver plays twice a year.

Just last year they had 27, 28, and 38 point wins at home. The 38 point win coming against a .500 team in ASU.

This 25 point win against UL is their biggest margin of victory this year.

  2. UL Basketball Re: Denver knows how to take advantage of the altitude

No doubt oxygen is thin, but Denver made open shots in Denver on drives to the goal that they simply missed in Lafayette. They pretty much played the same on offense except they made those shots. We on the other hand played badly on offense in the first 20 minutes. You would think the thin air would be more of a factor late in the halves and later in the game but we played better late in the half and later in the game. So the big blow out had more to do with attitude than altitude.
