Based on what I've read so far in the book by Coach Shipley and Ron Gomez, it appears this has been a trend for the last 30 years or so.

That's why he has been a D-Leaguer. He has NBA talent, just not the needed consistency. That is is biggest hold-up IMHO. We're pulling for you, DM!
