Thread: Tracking the Preaux Career of UL's Dwayne Mitchell

  1. Default Re: Tracking the Pro Career of Dwayne Mitchell

With the Heat having only four guards on the books next season, Dwayne Mitchell had the chance to showcase his backcourt abilities in Orlando. Mitchell had proven himself at Louisiana Lafayette, averaging 16 points, eight rebounds, and four assists during his senior year. But the 6'5" guard went undrafted in 2006 and tried to establish himself in this year's summer league. He did not accomplish his mission. Mitchell averaged less than two points and attempted just three field goals in three games. This is not enough for the NBA's third lowest scoring team who needs an offensive boost next season.

He was good. But he just worked with the Miami Heat training camp and he didn't do well. See the Dwayne Mitchell thread

My god he is so bad! I hope some of these new kids can take a page or two out of his book.

    The Louisville loss still burns.

  5. UL Basketball Energy move to 2-0 after Mitchell scores 16 in 4th quarter

The win got the expansion Energy out to a 2-0 start in the toughest building in the league in which to play. The last time Duane Ticknor coached the Wizards - he is returning after a seven-year absence - Dakota went 18-0 in the Bismarck Civic Center.

"That was big," Nurse said. "In our wildest dreams we didn't expect that. On a trip like this, we were just hoping to scrape out one."

Curry, a 6-foot-3 guard on assignment from the Chicago Bulls, had another big night for Iowa, with 24 points and eight assists.

The other star of the night for Iowa was Dwayne Mitchell. The 6-5 swingman out of Louisiana-Lafayette scored a game-high 34 points, 16 in the final quarter.

Nurse was not surprised to see Curry and Mitchell come through in the clutch.

"They're both fringe NBA players, and they both looked like it," Nurse said.

"A new team beating the defending champions at their place, that definitely gives us momentum," Curry said.

What a game for Mitchell! 34 points. Does anyone know what his career high was at UL?

I don't remember his career high. But I do remember his 19pt, 20 reb game against Tennessee. Also, I will never forget him dunking all over Yemi Nicholson to put the exclamation point on the Sunbelt Championship.

Default NBDL All Star Vote-Dwayne Mitchell & Brian Hamilton

    http://www.nba.com/dleague/news/alls...ds_071218.html

This is the link to vote for the D-Leauge all star game. Dwayne Mitchell is having a great year for the Iowa Energy, and Brian Hamilton is playing for the Utah Flash.

The game is in New Orleans as part of the NBA all-star weekend (would be a homecoming for Dwayne). Lets help make it happen!
