All very humerous, but in fact that is exactly what Marlin is being paid to do.
Bring in better players, win more games. Not exactly rocket science.
This is basketball not football you do not need 3-5 years to build. You do need a couple of special players to go with role players. Right now we have a bunch of role players. Second full recruiting class coming up so lets see what happens then.
Turb is this a what is the meaning of is, is question?
I've already shared the limits of my genius, Turbine. Your request is outside my skill set. That usually doesn't stop me from posting an opinion, but this morning I'm feeling some humility. Ok, I'm over that. It's according to the definition of "were". I were not having sex with that woman.
This game shows why the Independent was wrong to call out Cajun basketball fans. Yea, we are fighting for a Western Conference crown, but this is a mediocre team in a bad league. Anyone who has watched the Cajuns over the years know this team is slightly better than the Robert Lee teams, but nowwhere near our historic play.
I still think Marlin can get us back to respectability, but he will have to recruit better than he has these first two years.
Man, how quickly you forget the LEE years. This basketball is much better that that junk was. We have a winning record. What is the surprise of getting our _____ handed to us in Denver. It has happened fairly often over the years. Brown, Kadeem, Mbamalou, McClennand and Thomas are pretty good recruits. Marlins team in the past have been high scoring teams. I think that we will be better than alright in the next couple of years.
Not forgetting...just do not think the talent level is all that different. With the exception of last night I have been impressed with how hard our team plays. When we bring in some more talent (someone who can actually shoot) we should see a return to postseason play.
Fish, nobody is giving up on Marlin. He has one legitimate class under him, and next year two. If a coach is the right coach for the job he takes in basketball it is not a four or five year deal to turn things around. Really all he needs is two players, an outstanding guard and an outstanding anything else.
Right now he has JJ who was close to being outstanding healthy and may be next year again, and Payton who would be an average aged high school senior. He shows flashes of brillance and also shows he will be 18 in a week.
I like Smith, no. 20 he needs to mature, but has lots of natural talent.
These are the young guys I see lots of promise in.
