Thread: ROUX: Randell Daigle signals Louisiana

  1. UL Basketball ROUX: Randell Daigle signals Louisiana

Recruiting is known to be a difficult process regardless of the sport, and for Northside High's Randell Daigle it was that and much more.

"He was getting agitated," Daigle's mother Pauline said, "because everyone kept asking him where he was going to go to school."

But after looking into the pros and cons of all the school's that showed genuine interest in him, Daigle decided to give coach Robert Lee and the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns basketball program a verbal commitment.

"I just feel like UL is the best place for me right now," said Daigle, who plans on majoring in computer science. "After talking to the coaches, they really were giving me the best offer."

This past season, Daigle averaged 13 points per game en route to leading the Vikings to the Top 28, where Northside won the school's first-ever basketball state championship.

The headline in the paper and on this thread is incorrect.

Daigle cannot sign until next week. What he gave was a non-binding verbal commitment.

From what I read in the article he plans on majoring in computer science. I'm sure the new computer science building influenced his plans. And he's a diabetic, maybe he'll be the next Adam Morrisson. Just wishing for a little much i guess.

I see we out recruited some real basketball heavyweights in Northeastern, Lamar, and Southern. I sure hope "RADAR" as he is nicknamed, is flying under the radar.

Sorry about the whining, I know it does no good. I am just a little down with basketball and baseball not living up to my expectations. I am just a die hard Cajun fan and want the very best for our program.
