It's like Coach Marlin said.
UL has been in "7" over time games the last two years. In those games UL is 6-1
I've come to the conclusion that if we are up by 3 with time running down.. we foul someone on the inbound play. No way we let anyone shoot a last second 3 on us.
stAte was a different situation that Little Rock. They hit their 3 with 9 seconds left too much time left to foul.
I agree, I don't see us getting it done in tournament play or in the Big Show.
We win on guts alone but not with skill. All I see is driving to the basket when you have 8 guys already there.
We can't win out of conference games and without that we get NO national recognition and we need that to be considered for post season play both NIT and NCAA.
I know Marlin is in his 2nd and I hope by his 3rd year we have perimeter shooters.
Playing on guts all the time won't win all the times.
GEAUX CAJUNS.
I know the shooting situation----but just think of the individual shows that on given nights different guys have put on----Josh, JJ, Raymone, McClellan, Bum Bum a loo, and AMT have had perfect and almost perfect 3 point nights---We just need to put all of these shows together on the same night-----Can you say regionals!!!! What is the story on Perez?????
The UALR game two threes in less than a half minute were tough shots. To make one would be good, to make both, it just isn't your night, but still if we do the simple and make free throws at our season average in that stretch no loss. Again in the ASU game we have a tough shot made, again free thows needed the whole game.
Someone commented that he was pretty sure it was mostly the other team making threes vs us to close a game. It matters not one bit, I prefer my team to be in the lead most of the times. UL has a very high rank in three point defense so it is a big aberation for those shots to hit when there is pressure. They made um that is not the main reason we lost those games.
Bingo we have a winner if we shoot free throws we win that game and possible a few other games that might be close. For some reason kids today can not shoot free throw. Fundamentals
