Our BB team is just not that good. Understand I do not question the effort, which is always there. We have no dribbler, no shooter, no passer, no free throw shooter and no goto guy at all. We can't make layups or put backs. We stay in games because we play defense and are very athletic. We need a point guard that understands the roll. We need a shooter than can bury an 8 ft jump shot. Two games in a row, opponents have made last second threes that I don't believe we would have made.

My hope is for a championship but my guess is we'll be lucky to make the second round.

Maybe next year!

All that and we're only a half game off the division lead. Yes, overall we may not be the best in the conference but we're now 3 above .500, a place we haven't been in a long time. It's about progress.

The results speak for themselves - 15-12 overall, 10-3 at home, 1/2 game out of the lead in the Division in spite of...
- having the player projected to be your primary outside threat (Clarke) not play a game due to a career ending injury,
- your other projected go-to player (Thomas) having to play all season with the effects of a nasty early-season nasty knee,
- having a couple of juco players (Thompson, Jackson) not develop like you hoped,
- and playing a 17 year-old true freshman as your first option at point guard.

Yep, this team has its problems but they've done well by how they've been coached and how they've been toughing out their issues as they've matured late in the season.

We know, but yet Coach Marlin squeezes wins out with these guys. This is the best record we have had in a while.

Lets enjoy it. We all miss days when we used to dominate, but this is what we have right now.

It didn't work so I understand your question.

From what I understood (and he didn't say this exactly) is that he had the equivalant of a 2 minute offense going.

Coach Marlin already had a play called and if he would have called a timeout UALR would have been able to set up a defense. Since he had the play called already the advantage should have been with UL.

The execution was not there. In hindsight your question is legit, but I understand why he didn't think so at the time.

My thought is that, with Coach Marlin's guidance and coaching, we are headed back to where we all want our program to be. The program was NOT in great shape when he got here. Recruiting had been lacking for several years, so our talent level was no where CLOSE to what we've been accustomed to. And our lack of wining seasons was the result.

As we head back up, I can either sit on the sidelines and moan...or I can buy my season tickets, attend the games...and overall be a vocal supporter and defender of the program along the way.

We've got SOME help coming in this next class...and Ramone, Kadeem, Elfred, JJ and Kentwan will all be a year older. It will come.

And...we won.

Can't disagree with anything that I have read here. Very happy that we have Marlin as a coach here....IMO, best coach since Bobby Paschal
