    Default Damon Forest

For those that don't know, he signed with us during the early basketball signing period. well he was named 2nd team all state. Finishing the season averaging 20.6 pts per game and grabbing 6 rebounds a game.

Also on a side note courtney wallace who has been named as someone we are interested in was named honorable mention all state.

Where's this kid from? What does he play? What's his personal stats?

Just curious, I haven't followed high school bball at all this year.

He is a 6'2" guard from Central High in Baton Rouge. Central finished second in the district to Woodlawn. Woodlawn reached the championship game and they had a couple of Hurricane evacuees on their team. During the playoffs, Central lost to John Ehret in the second round in a close game. John Ehret won the state title. Ehret had players from quite a few New Orleans area schools on their team. Forest was the leading scorer for Central at ~ 20 ppg. He often had the bulk of his points in the fourth quarter-indicating he elevates his play with the game on the line. He also was a good rebounder for Central.

  5. UL Basketball Central's Forest to have one last game in BR

Turns out the final basketball game in the high school career of former Central High standout Damon Forest will be a homecoming celebration of sorts.

For more than a month Forest has gotten a leg up on the next phase of his career — participating in offseason conditioning, playing pick-up games with his new teammates and attending summer school at his home of the future — at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.

Forest returns to his hometown for one final game, though, when he represents Central in the Coca-Cola/Louisiana High School Coaches All-Star Basketball game Thursday.

Tip-off is set for about 8 p.m. at LSU’s Pete Maravich Assembly Center.

“I’m just going to try and have fun since it’s my last time,” Forest said. “I know there will be a lot of good people there and everybody’s going to try and get their own points. I’m just going to have fun.”

Exactly which team Forest, a 6-foot-3 shooting guard, will be part of won’t be determined until a lottery Sunday morning. He will be one of two UL signees selected to participate — joining Carencro’s LaRyan Gary.

I'm seeing that marquei cooke is no longer w/ the team.....
Anyone know for what reason? i know he had off the court problems in the past. Is he just not doing book work or is he really that bad off the court?

From what I know, Cooke didn't get his work done in the classroom so he's no longer with the team. Coach said in an interview that they knew he came with off-the-court baggage, and if it worked out then great, but if not, the University didn't lose anything from it.
