As long as construction is being done on state property, all contracts must be approved.Private or Bond funded.

As an added fact to the softball construction----What happened to the beautiful inlaid work that was to be on the top area to match the theme of the campus buildings---Maybe somebody has the sketch of the SB stadium as shown by the artist!!!

I would sure like to see some pictures of what the finished stadium project looks like, especially the suites and pressbox, around the outside of the stadium, the grounds work and landscaping and the naming of the stadium. Curious as to what kind of impression it gives to someone driving up to the stadium for the first time. I've seen pictures of inside the stadium, but no details and was by there a few months ago and much of this was not done. Anyone have the pictures or have the capability of taking them and posting for all to see? Can't believe the season starts later this week already. Surely, all is completed and to the full satisfaction of the Lotiefs.

I don't know what, if anything, is missing from the finished product. I do know that the park looks pretty darn impressive as you drive by or walk up to the front gates. Having been at the Texas softball park last summer, the new Lamson is both much nicer looking as well as more fan friendly as far as seating and access to concessions.

Can't wait to get there Friday afternoon for that opening pitch.

All I know is that Tony referenced the upgrades to The Tigue as recently as last week during his Saturday morning call in from Texas...and that they were ready to take place at the end of this season. Until I hear differently, i'm going with what he said as current info...and fact.

I'm sure Mr. Farmer is getting together a presser to announce to the general public how great our new stadium upgrades will be. Imagine how the general public will react when hearing this from our AD???? I imagine he may do it on KATCs morning show having Tom Voinche and the group out at the stadium with Tony, Ron Guidry, and the unnamed donor. For that whole day it'll be UL day on KATC and we will get small interviews from former players as Jonathan Lucroy, Andy Gros, Chase Lambin, Phillip Hawke, Dallas Morris, etc etc etc...

I sure hope so. I feel like we've been talking about baseball stadium renovations for years (longer than any other sport complex projects) and I feel like somehow softball has passed baseball up and somehow now track and field may pass up baseball too??? I don't understand why there is a lack of motivation or lack of realization to get this project underway.

Baseball has more than proven its worth to this University, it's way passed time to reward them with a shiny new grandstand. The baseline bleachers are beautiful and just right for the Tigue, no need to do anything to those... The grandstand re-do will be just enough to suffice and I think will really make our stadium pop.

I really love what they did with the Softball Park, and by all means, I did not mean to imply that those ladies did not earn their right to upgrade before baseball or vice versa, because they sure as hell have proven their worth over the years as well. I just think football is a much larger project as well as track and field. Baseball should move to the top of the list in my eyes, now that softball is complete. Let's get this done.

By the way, is anyone else really looking forward to Southern Miss coming in town in a few weeks? Can't wait! Should be some large crowds, and I know they travel very well.

    GEAUX CAJUNS!

A new Track was promised to recruits at least as early as 1997. It was not built until after those recruits had graduated several years, and then it was not up to the promised standard. And sorry to burst your bubble, but both softball and track have historically been MUCH more successful than baseball.

I am not saying that baseball does not deserve an upgrade; they do, but let's not blow their accomplishments out of proportion.

Baseball and the track will all happen this year. After the last out the grand stand will come down. It is going to happen you will all see.

The word is not all the funding is in place. They are working on having it done before the end of the baseball season. If it gets done, it will start soon after baseball is over, if not we have to wait till next year!!!
