When we got in our car after the game, I told my wife that I would bet the Denver coach was upset because "a foul at the end decided the game". Sure enough, the article quotes the coach saying just that. He "questioned that philosophy" of a foul being called at the end...in a situation like that.
I've never understood that statement...and it's made so often. What the hell does that mean? If its a freakin foul, no matter when it happens, how do you NOT call it? If the Cajuns had been down by one point last night...and Elfred drove as he did and took a shot at the buzzer...and gets hammered...but with NO call, would THAT not have been "the refs deciding the game"?
If its a foul, call the darn thing! Am I missing something?
